Yesterday we learnt how to do tessellation art. It was fun. I made the design first with a piece of card.We then traced it onto a bigger piece of paper and repeated the pattern but the pieces had to fit into each other with no gaps. Have you tried this?

  1. Kia ora Connor,
My name is Kieryn and I will be working with Kaniere School to comment on your blog posts over the next two terms.
You have done a fantastic job creating this tessellation artwork! I really like the way you have designed your main shape to have both curves and sharp angles. It must have been tricky designing a shape that needed to fit together like a puzzle, so you should be extremely proud of your efforts!
You mentioned how you made the design first with a card. How did you figure out how to make the design so there would be no gaps?
You also mentioned how you then traced the shape onto a bigger piece of paper and repeated the pattern. How did you trace the shape onto the paper?
I have never tried tessellation art before, however I am definitely keen to give it a try now that I understand how it is done!
You have done an awesome job! Keep up the great work!

  2. Hi Connor
You have made such are great start to your tessellation art. It is starting to look great now that you are colouring it. I can't wait to get back to school so we can put it up on the walls. While I love being at home, and my house is so warm I miss the classroom and the school environment. DO you miss being in the class?
